Set up your mobile phone

Install the OzzyTech trusted root certificate to access the secure camera scanner.

Android Installation Steps

  1. Tap Download CA Certificate above.
  2. Open your phone's Settings app.
  3. Navigate to Security & privacy → More security settings → Encryption & credentials.
  4. Tap Install a certificate → CA certificate.
    ⚠️ Do NOT select VPN/app certificate or Wi-Fi certificate.
  5. Confirm the Android safety warning and select OzzyTech-Local-CA.crt from your Downloads folder.
  6. Fully close and reopen Chrome browser to clear active TLS connections.
  7. Tap Open Secure Scanner below and allow camera permissions when prompted.

iPhone / iOS Installation Steps

  1. Prefer Safari for downloading the CA certificate (tap Download CA Certificate above).
  2. Open your iPhone's Settings app.
  3. Install it under Settings > General > VPN & Device Management.
  4. Then go to Settings > General > About > Certificate Trust Settings.
  5. Enable Full Trust for the OzzyTech/mkcert root CA.
  6. Open the secure scanner URL using the link below.
  7. Allow camera permission when prompted.
  8. The phone must have Tailscale connected when outside the local network.
  9. Add to Home Screen using the Share menu after confirming HTTPS is trusted.

Troubleshooting & LAN Rules

  • This internal scanner runs on a private local network. Ensure your phone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the OzzyTech server. Mobile data will not reach the IP 192.168.2.21.
  • Android security model blocks camera access on unsecure/untrusted domains. Clicking "Proceed anyway" past security warnings is NOT sufficient. You must install the CA root certificate.
  • Only install the public certificate. Never copy, share, or request `.key` private keys.
